About Limenis Global Advisory

Most advisors understand maritime. Few have commanded it, built it, and transformed it from the inside.

Limenis Global Advisory was founded by a practitioner — someone who has stood watch at sea, managed critical infrastructure ashore, and led transformative programs at the highest levels of Canada's maritime and supply chain industry.

Captain Shri Madiwal, MM, MBA

Founder & Principal Advisor

Master Mariner (Unlimited)

Executive MBA

Graduate Certificate, Americas

As Vice-President of Operations & Supply Chain at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority — one of Canada’s most strategically significant trade gateways — Shri led some of the country’s most consequential maritime and supply chain programs. From the integration of the Trans Mountain Expansion to Canada’s first Active Vessel Traffic Management system, from a $20M port revenue strategy to pioneering data and digital twin initiatives, his tenure at VFPA was defined by transformation at scale.

Before VFPA, Shri served as Director of Fleet Operations at Marine Atlantic, a federal crown corporation, where he lifted fleet on-time performance from 59% to 91%, delivered Canada’s first automated mooring system, and successfully navigated a complex new vessel procurement through Transport Canada and the Treasury Board. Earlier, as Senior Marine Superintendent at Valles Steamship, he directed global fleet operations and led 12 international shipbuilding projects across China and Japan.

But what truly sets Shri apart is where his career began — at sea. A Master Mariner who commanded large ocean-going vessels on international trade routes, he brings an understanding of maritime operations that no classroom or boardroom alone can teach. That foundation — built in the most demanding operational conditions in the world — is what informs every strategic recommendation Limenis Global Advisory delivers.

Limenis Global Advisory was founded to build a practice worthy of that experience — assembling the right specialists for every engagement, integrating global best practices with local operational realities, and delivering outcomes that create lasting value for clients across the maritime and supply chain world.

International Shipping

Master Mariner — Captain, Ocean-Going Vessels

Sailed worldwide in progressive roles, culminating in command of large ocean-going vessels on international trade routes. Personally managed complex navigation, cargo operations, advanced safety protocols, and full crew leadership under stringent international and Flag State regulations — the foundation on which every subsequent leadership role was built.

The Master Mariner Advantage

What it means to have commanded at sea

There is no simulation for command at sea. The decisions made on the bridge of an ocean-going vessel — in adverse weather, in congested waters, under commercial pressure, with full responsibility for crew, cargo, and vessel — build a form of operational judgment that is rarely found in advisory firms. It is the reason our clients trust that our recommendations are grounded in reality, not theory.
